Fall marks the transition from summer into winter and is usually that time of the year when we mothball away our breezy and vivid summer clothes and bring out the dark and bulky winter set. But now that Jon Snow is (spoiler) dead and we don’t have anyone haranguing us about the impending cold, I think you can still get away with wearing prints this Fall.

If at least a few men didn’t have open minds when it comes to menswear, our lives would remain dull and lackluster. Men’s wardrobes would be full of blue, beige and grey. The monsoon has been quite bad this year. Sporadic rainfall means that I haven’t brought out the full length rain coat yet, but I still carry around a rain jacket just in case. This means that I am happy and farmers aren’t, which means economic repercussions. Yes, I do spend time thinking about these things but for now, let’s look at how monochrome works with prints.
Rain. Some of the weird ones among us seem to enjoy this phenomenon. Pluviophiles or something. I however, hate the rain. Being outdoors means getting soaked and mostly spending time stuck in traffic or waiting under the eaves of shops. Being indoors means being stuck in a house without electricity, with only the company of mosquitoes to help pass the time. But all this doesn’t mean that you can’t look good during the rains. It is possible and I will show you how you can step out looking like a million bucks and show mother nature she can’t knock your hustle with a little downpour.
On Sunday mornings, I like to sit by the lake near my house in a black pea-coat and feed pigeons, waiting for top secret documents like Robert Redford in Three Days of the Condor. Joke. I do not like pigeons, they walk funny. But cold mornings are probably the only time I can actually wear a pea-coat, thanks to the blazing summer that has already set in. Thankfully, it has been raining for the past three days here so this outfit works in the evenings as well, as long as you stay dry. With the monsoons and colder weather coming up, outerwear becomes a necessity. So let’s take a closer look here.
