Titan is one of India’s most recognizable brands and the watchmaker’s foray into perfumery which began two years ago through their ‘Skinn’ series of scents turned out to be a perfect place for me to start my foray into reviewing perfumes. Read on to find out more about their latest variant for men – Verge.
Crafted by award winning perfumer Nadege Le Garlantezec, Verge is an EDP that definitely lives up to expectations. Top notes of lemon and lavender give you that crisp clean smell which settles down nicely into middle notes of oak moss and patchouli. The base notes are my favorite part – spearmint and mahonial. Mahonial adds some density and longevity to this perfume, and I feel that Verge is one of those scents that develops very well over time. It lingered for around 7 hours on me on a day where I was drenched in rainwater. I think that’s as good a test as any. Edgy yet grown-up, Verge is also priced competitively.
The way Verge lingers makes me think about some fleeting moments in my life which I recall very vividly. Particularly this one time where I had a great conversation with a girl I met at a cafe over breakfast. Though short it was one of the most lively conversations I’d ever had. We did exchange numbers but the digits turned out to be a dead end and I never saw her again. When a perfume can invoke such memories in you, you know it’s a good one.
